Lot 155: Antique Brass and Copper Side-Handle Table Oil Lamp with Glass Chimney
A late 19th or early 20th-century style table oil lamp of mixed metal construction. The lamp features a weighted, tiered circular brass base and a side-mounted brass loop handle for ease of carriage. The bulbous reservoir or font is constructed from copper. It is fitted with a metal burner assembly and a clear glass chimney of typical tapered form. This is a traditional non-electrified oil lamp in its original configuration. A handwritten dealer tag attached to the lamp identifies it as a heavy brass and copper oil lamp. No manufacturer stamps or markings are visible on the exterior of the base or burner.
Condition report:
The lamp is in good condition overall, exhibiting a natural aged patina. There is visible surface oxidation and minor tarnishing to the brass and copper elements consistent with age. The clear glass chimney appears intact and is free from any significant chips or cracks.
