This set comprises a matching crumb tray and scraper, both constructed from embossed sheet copper. The design features a repetitive fluted or fan-like pattern radiating from the centre, characteristic of the late Victorian and Edwardian Arts and Crafts aesthetic. The tray is of a circular form with a slightly raised rim. The scraper consists of a curved copper blade secured to a turned black ebonised wooden handle by a cast brass decorative mount. No manufacturer names, hallmarks, or maker’s marks are discernible on either item.
Condition report:
The set is in good antique condition. The copper displays a warm, aged patina with natural oxidation and darkening visible within the recessed areas of the fluted decoration. There are minor surface scratches and small spots of tarnish consistent with the age and functional use of the pieces. The ebonised handle and brass mount remain secure. Two orange adhesive labels are present on the surfaces.
