Lot 64: A Set of Harlequin Glazed Ceramic Egg Cups in Original Presentation Box
A set of six harlequin glazed ceramic egg cups, each finished in a different vibrant solid-coloured glaze including peach, yellow, lavender, blue, pink, and lime green. The interior and foot of each cup are finished in a contrasting cream glaze. Each piece is decorated with gilt bands to the upper rim and at the junction where the bowl meets the stem. This style of decorative ceramic is attributed to Romanian manufacturers such as Cerom, dating to the mid-20th century. The cups are housed in their original burgundy-coloured cardboard presentation box with white card internal dividers. Two pieces retain adhesive price or inventory stickers: a white label marked 12 12 on the peach cup and an orange label marked 64 on the blue cup. No manufacturer marks are visible on the exterior surfaces shown.
Condition report:
The egg cups appear to be in good vintage condition with no visible chips, cracks, or significant crazing. The gilt decoration is largely intact with minimal wear. The original presentation box shows some age-related wear, including surface marks and minor scuffing to the edges.
