Lot 638: Edwardian Yellow Metal Aquamarine and Seed Pearl Bar Brooch Retailed by Wheatley and Son
An early 20th-century bar brooch of slender, double-railed construction in yellow metal. The central motif features a rectangular step-cut aquamarine in a rub-over setting, flanked by six white seed pearls set at regular intervals along the bars. The brooch is fitted with a traditional hinged pin and C-clasp mechanism, supplemented by an attached safety chain and secondary pin for added security. The piece is presented in its original fitted presentation case with a velvet and silk lining. The interior lid of the box bears the printed retailer mark for Wheatley and Son, Goldsmiths and Silversmiths, Carlisle. No hallmarks are visible on the brooch itself in the provided imagery.
