Pinned to the centre of the ribbon is an emblem depicting crossed implements, likely gavels or hammers, positioned over an oval shield. The jewel is housed in its original dark textured presentation case with a blue velvet and silk interior. The interior lid is printed in gold leaf with the maker’s information: Spencer and Co, Masonic Manufacturers, 15 Great Queen St, London, W.C., Estd 1801. The W.C. postcode signifies a production date prior to 1917.
