This collection of Masonic jewels pertains to the Province of Cumberland and Westmorland and the Royal Masonic Institution for Boys (RMIB). The group includes two RMIB steward’s jewels, dated 1961 and 1980, which feature white enamel shields with green tree motifs and gilt lettering. A large oval jewel in gilt metal and blue enamel depicts a central architectural monument within a border inscribed CUMBERLAND & WESTMORLAND. Also included is a circular badge with a blue enamel border inscribed WESTMORLAND, featuring a central figure in relief. The items are accompanied by pale blue textile ribbons, including one with a gilt bar inscribed STEWARD. The collection is housed in a red textured presentation box with a blue fabric-lined interior.
Condition report:
The items appear in good condition with vibrant enamel and intact gilding. There is no significant visible damage or loss to the enamel surfaces. The textile ribbons show minor creasing and light wear consistent with age. The presentation box displays minor surface wear and scuffing to the exterior.
