Lot 608: A Collection of Early 20th Century and Later Jewellery including a 9 Carat Gold Front and Back Bangle
A collection of yellow metal jewellery items comprising a hinged bangle, a heart-shaped locket, rings, and a tie slide. The hinged bangle features engraved foliate scrollwork to the front and is internally stamped 9CT FRONT & BACK, S G & S, and 624198. The heart-shaped locket is similarly stamped 9CT FRONT & BACK. One ring is of bypass design, set with a single pearl and small colourless accent stones. Another ring features a single red stone in a claw setting. The rectangular tie slide displays engine-turned decoration with a clip mechanism to the reverse. The stamps 9CT FRONT & BACK indicate that the pieces are constructed with a layer of 9 carat gold over a base metal core. The maker mark S G & S is attributed to S. Griffith & Sons.
Condition report:
The collection exhibits surface scratches, tarnishing, and general wear consistent with age and use. The bangle hinge and locket clasp appear functional. No scale or measuring tools were present to determine weight or dimensions.
