This item is a small rectangular footstool of traditional country design, constructed from a dark-stained hardwood with a reddish-brown finish. The frame features four turned legs with square-section blocks at the upper junctions with the seat rails, reinforced by horizontal stretchers on all sides. The seat is hand-woven using a two-tone cord in a dark brown and natural tan checkerboard pattern. No maker’s marks, stamps, or labels are visible on the exterior; a small orange circular sticker is present on one of the corner blocks.
Condition report:
The stool is in good used condition. The wooden frame shows typical signs of age and use, including surface scuffing, minor chips, and wear to the finish, particularly on the corners of the square blocks and the turned portions of the legs. The woven seat remains tight and appears to be in well-preserved condition with no significant breaks or fraying.
