Lot 458: A Collection of Vintage Workshop Tools and Storage Chests including Record Bolt Cutters and Gedore Tool Chest
A collection of vintage workshop tools and storage containers. The lot features a pair of heavy-duty bolt cutters with the central pivot plate bearing the embossed mark RECORD, produced by C. & J. Hampton Ltd. of Sheffield. These cutters are constructed with cast metal handles showing remnants of blue paint and forged steel blades. Also included is a large rectangular wooden tool chest made from timber boards with metal hardware and corner reinforcements. A blue multi-compartment metal tool chest is present, embossed with the manufacturer name GEDORE on the lower front edge. Resting atop this is a smaller metal storage case printed with the brand Kamasa-Tools. The contents of the chests include a hand saw with a red plastic handle, a traditional manual brace drill with a wooden pommel and handle, and various steel components and hardware.
Condition report:
All items are in as found condition with extensive surface rust, oxidation, and grime from long-term storage. The metal components show significant corrosion and paint loss, while the wooden chest is weathered with staining and minor splitting. The mechanical action of the tools is likely stiff due to corrosion and functional condition is not guaranteed.
