A collection of assorted ceramic vessels and domestic wares. The lot includes a nested set of three stoneware crocks: the innermost is a shallow vessel featuring a hand-painted cobalt blue slip-trailed scrolled design below the rim, while the outermost buff-coloured crock is decorated with a dark foliate spray. Also included is a pair of nested large terracotta garden pots, with the inner pot featuring two horizontal yellow-glazed bands around the body. Within the terracotta pots sits a small, dark brown salt-glazed stoneware jar. A nested set of white glazed ceramic bowls is also included. No maker’s marks or capacity stamps are visible on the items. Several pieces bear modern orange adhesive stickers. These items are consistent with late 19th or 20th-century British domestic and garden pottery.
Condition report:
The items show signs of age and practical use. The terracotta pots exhibit surface wear and white salt efflorescence. The stoneware crocks show internal staining and surface abrasions. Minor rim nicks and small chips consistent with age and stacked storage are present across the collection.
