A traditional Indian low stool, known as a Pidha, constructed from a dark-stained hardwood. The stool features four stout legs with decorative baluster turnings, connected by simple circular-profile stretchers for structural stability. The seat consists of a decorative two-tone weave using burgundy and cream-coloured cord, arranged in a geometric four-way pattern that meets at a central point. This form and construction are characteristic of traditional Rajasthani handicrafts. No maker marks are present, although a small yellow inventory sticker numbered 375 is adhered to the woven seat.
Condition report:
The stool is in good, structurally sound condition. The wooden frame displays minor surface scuffs, small scratches, and light wear to the stained finish on the legs and stretchers consistent with use. The woven cord seat remains well-tensioned and is free from significant fraying or staining.
