This lot comprises two contemporary ceramic lidded jars of varied design. The first is a large cylindrical canister in ivory-glazed earthenware, featuring a domed lid with a circular knob finial. The body is decorated in relief with a band of repeating interlocking arches positioned above a horizontal rope-twist border, a design attributed to the Sorrento pattern by Signature Housewares. The second item is a novelty jack-o-lantern jar in painted earthenware, shaped as a stylized pumpkin with black facial features and yellow hair accents. The lid is designed as a green-brimmed pointed hat with a striped crown in orange, green, and blue. No manufacturer marks are visible on the exterior surfaces of either item. An orange adhesive label numbered 337 is present on the brim of the novelty jar.
Condition report:
Both items appear to be in good condition. The ivory canister has a small brown mark on the rim of the lid, which may be a minor iron spot in the glaze or a small surface chip. No other visible chips, cracks, or repairs are evident.
