Lot 332: A Laurel and Hardy Novelty Resin Shelf
A novelty decorative shelf featuring hand-painted resin caricature figures of the comedic duo Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy. The figures are depicted in the roles of workmen or removal men supporting a central black rectangular shelf. The figure on the right, representing Oliver Hardy, is modeled with a bowler hat and toothbrush moustache, while the figure on the left, representing Stan Laurel, is shown in a soft cap with a characteristic strained facial expression. Both figures are dressed in maroon shirts and yellow overalls. The piece is constructed from a cold-cast resin or similar composite material. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.

The item is in good overall condition. There is some visible surface dust and minor paint scuffing to the edges and raised details, consistent with age and display. A small white adhesive lot number is present on the shoulder of the left figure, and a small orange sticker is visible on the front edge of the shelf. No significant chips, cracks, or repairs are apparent.
