An assortment of various decorative figurines and objects comprising ceramic, porcelain, and wood examples. The lot includes a pair of ceramic owl figurines, naturalistically modelled and hand-painted in shades of brown, beige, and white. There is a folk-art style carved wooden owl featuring inset yellow-coloured eyes. The collection also contains a porcelain figurine of a gentleman in 18th-century style dress, including a white coat with blue floral sprays and a white wig, and a smaller porcelain figure of a seated child or cherub wearing a yellow hat and blue jacket. A stylised black-glazed ceramic object of teardrop form, bearing a small white auction label with the number 19, is included alongside a character figurine of an elderly man in a purple hat and red jacket. Also present is a larger, pale-coloured ceramic or composite animal figure, appearing to represent a polar bear or large dog. No maker’s marks or factory stamps are visible on the exterior surfaces. These items are characteristic of 20th-century decorative ware of British or Continental origin.
Condition report:
The items generally appear to be in fair to good condition, consistent with age and decorative use. The porcelain gentleman figurine shows evidence of fine surface crazing to the glaze. General surface dust and minor rubbing to the painted decoration are visible across the pieces. Bidders should be aware that small chips or previous repairs may be present within a mixed lot of this nature that are not immediately evident from a group photograph.
