A 20th-century floral study by F. M. Nicholson, executed in watercolour with white gouache or bodycolour highlights on textured paper. The artwork depicts vibrant red and yellow blooms, reminiscent of poppies, interspersed with delicate sprays of small white flowers. The work is signed vertically in the upper left corner F.M. Nicholson. It is presented behind glass in a cream-coloured mount and housed in a gilt-finished moulded frame.
Condition report:
The paper displays overall toning consistent with age, with minor mat burn visible along the edges of the mount. No significant foxing, water damage, or fading is immediately apparent. The frame exhibits light surface wear and minor scuffing but remains in good decorative condition.
