A trio of oil on panel paintings attributed to H. Koekkoek, depicting various coastal and nautical scenes in the 19th-century Dutch tradition. Each painting is signed H. Koekkoek in the upper right corner. The first work shows a sailing vessel navigating choppy, grey waters under a turbulent sky, with figures in a small rowing boat in the foreground. The second work features a sailboat moored near a classic Dutch windmill and a thatched-roof cottage under a brighter sky. The third depicts a two-masted vessel on calm water near a wooden breakwater. All three works exhibit fine, detailed brushwork characteristic of the Dutch school, with careful attention to rigging and atmospheric light. Two of the paintings are housed in matching swept gilt Rococo-style frames with shell and scroll motifs. The third painting is set in an ornate gilt frame with a dark brown fabric liner. Contemporary auction lot stickers numbered 2 2 and 294 are attached to the frames.
Condition report:
The paintings appear to be in good overall condition. No significant craquelure, paint loss, or visible repairs are evident on the panels. Minor surface dirt is present on the paint film. The gilt frames show minor wear, surface abrasions, and small chips consistent with age.
