Lot 255: A Vintage White-Painted Woven Wicker Storage Basket with Lid
A circular storage basket of tapered form, crafted from woven wicker and finished in a white paint. The item includes a matching fitted lid with a similar woven construction. Centred on the lid is a small orange adhesive tag bearing the handwritten numbers 255, adjacent to a white label showing the letters O and L. The basket exhibits a traditional over-and-under weaving technique throughout.
Condition report:
The basket shows visible signs of age and use. There is wear and chipping to the white-painted finish, particularly along the rim and the protruding edges of the wicker weave. The lid is slightly distorted and does not sit completely flush with the basket rim.
