Lot 253: A comprehensive porcelain dinner service in the Floral Mist pattern
This comprehensive porcelain dinner service is produced in the Floral Mist pattern, attributed to Fairfield. The set is crafted from fine white porcelain and features a delicate decoration of transfer-printed pink roses and floral garlands. The design is framed by a wide, beige-toned scrolled geometric border and finished with gilt edges to the rims. The collection comprises a large oval serving platter, a gravy boat with an integral underplate, a lidded teapot, a lidded twin-handled sugar bowl, a small creamer jug, a collection of dinner plates, a collection of side plates, and a group of teacups with matching saucers. While factory marks are present on the undersides of the pieces, they are not clearly legible for definitive identification. The orange and white labels visible in the images are temporary auction identification stickers and are not part of the porcelain decoration.
Condition report:
The service is in good overall condition, showing signs of light use consistent with age. There is minor rubbing to the gilt rims on several pieces. A small amount of residue is visible on the interior base of one teacup. No chips, cracks, or evidence of restoration are apparent upon visual inspection.
