Lot 248: Alphonse Mucha, Moet & Chandon White Star Champagne, Lithographic Print
A colour lithographic print after the iconic Art Nouveau advertising design by Alphonse Mucha for Moet & Chandon White Star Champagne. The artwork depicts a classically draped female figure with flowing hair, adorned with flowers and holding a cluster of grapes. The figure is set within a circular border containing the text Moet & Chandon, with the vertical inscription Champagne White Star to the right side. The piece features a printed Mucha signature at the lower right. It is presented in a glazed, silver-toned frame with a green paper mount. Small auction labels are attached to the frame and glazing, including an orange sticker numbered 248 and a white tag numbered 19 19.
Condition report:
The paper shows visible signs of age-related toning and scattered foxing throughout. A vertical mark or light crease is present near the lower centre edge. The frame exhibits surface scuffs, dust, and minor wear to the silvered finish.
