Lot 207: Royal Crown Derby Bone China Wren Paperweight
Royal Crown Derby fine bone china paperweight modelled in the form of a wren. The piece features a stylized Imari-inspired design executed in a palette of cobalt blue, iron red, and white, further embellished with hand-applied gilding. The decoration includes imbricated scale patterns representing feathers on the breast and sides, with scrolling foliate motifs on the wings and tail. The base is fitted with a silver-coloured metal stopper, embossed with the company crown and RCD monogram logo, surrounded by the text ROYAL CROWN DERBY and ENGLISH BONE CHINA.
Condition report:
The paperweight is in excellent condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of restoration. The gilded decoration is bright and shows negligible wear. The presence of a silver-toned stopper identifies this piece as a factory second.
