Lot 200: Royal Crown Derby Bone China Koala Paperweight
A Royal Crown Derby fine bone china paperweight modelled as a seated koala. The figure is decorated in a traditional Imari-inspired palette with dense patterns of cobalt blue and iron-red, highlighted with 22 carat gold gilding. The face features white circular patches around blue eyes and a blue nose, with the interior of the ears heavily gilded. The base bears a red printed Royal Crown Derby backstamp with the date code LI, signifying production in 2008. A silver-coloured metal stopper is fitted to the base, embossed with the factory mark. A small hand-painted number 9 in blue is also present on the underside.
Condition report:
The paperweight is in excellent condition, showing no chips, cracks, or signs of repair. The gilding is well-preserved throughout. An orange adhesive price label is attached to the right side of the figure.
