An assortment of gilding leaf presented in numerous individual paper booklets. The collection consists of thin metallic leaves, likely gold or imitation gold metal leaf, layered between protective tissue paper slips within traditional paper covers. The items are housed in a distressed cardboard box featuring a decorative green and red foliate patterned rim. On the upper right rim of the box are two adhesive stickers, one orange with the handwritten number 156 and one white with the printed number 12, likely representing previous auction or inventory lotting. No specific manufacturer names or brand marks are discernible on the visible components of the booklets or the packaging.
Condition report:
The collection is in a heavily used and aged state. Many of the booklets are partial with the leaf contents being fragmented and delicate. The paper covers of the booklets show significant wear including tearing, creasing, and foxing. The outer cardboard box is in poor condition with split corners and heavy overall wear. Material sold as seen.
