Lot 137: Nomura Toy Japanese Ghost Gun Battery Operated Projector Toy in Original Box
A vintage Japanese battery-operated light-projecting toy known as the Ghost Gun, manufactured by Nomura Toy (野村トーイ). The toy is constructed from black moulded plastic and is designed as a light-projecting game. Based on the illustrated packaging and Japanese text, the device projects a ghost target onto a surface which the user then targets. The gun features a front-mounted projection lens, a top-mounted drum-style component, and a detachable magazine-shaped battery compartment. The side of the gun displays labels with the text GHOST and the Japanese characters for Ghost Gun (ゴーストガン). The lot includes the main gun unit, the battery pack, and a red translucent film accessory in a clear plastic bag. The original pictorial box features the red circular Nomura Toy manufacturer logo and the company address: (株) 野村トーイ 東京都台東区蔵前 2-17-5. A Japanese ST (Safe Toy) mark is present on the lower left of the box lid. This item is a Japanese market version of the toy released in Western markets by companies such as Hasbro.
Condition report:
The toy is in good visual condition with some surface dust and minor signs of play wear. The electrical functionality and light projection mechanism have not been tested. The original cardboard box shows significant signs of age and wear, including creasing, edge wear, corner crushing, and surface abrasions. A small circular white sticker with the number 137 is adhered to the top right corner of the box.
