Lot 122: A Trio of Graduated Copper Saucepans with Cast Brass Handles
A graduated set of three circular saucepans constructed from heavy-gauge copper with interior tin linings. The pans display visible planishing marks from hand-hammering to both the interior and exterior surfaces. Each vessel is fitted with a long, flat cast brass handle, which is secured to the copper body by large rivets. The set is designed in a traditional European style typical of late 19th or early 20th century professional cookware. The items bear modern adhesive auction labels, including a white label printed with 15 15 and orange labels with handwritten numbers.
Condition report:
The pans show significant signs of age and domestic use. The copper surfaces have a developed patina with areas of verdigris and oxidisation around the rims and handle attachments. The interior tin linings are heavily worn and darkened. There are various surface scratches and small indentations to the copper bodies consistent with their history.
