A trio of antique metal domestic kettles, comprising one brass example and two copper examples. The brass kettle is constructed from sheet metal with a gooseneck spout and a high-arched handle featuring a turned ebonised wooden grip. It includes a fitted lid with a small brass finial. The two copper kettles consist of a smaller and a larger example, both formed from wrought sheet copper with fixed handles and turned wooden grips. The copper pieces show traditional styling with rounded bodies and short spouts. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible on the exterior surfaces. Each item is marked with an adhesive auction label.
Condition report:
The brass kettle shows surface tarnish and light wear consistent with age. The smaller copper kettle has a dark, aged patina with minor surface scratches. The larger copper kettle exhibits significant patination, surface pitting, and traces of oxidation and verdigris consistent with heavy domestic use. Wooden grips show general wear and age-related drying.
