March timed auction
Two ceramic items comprising a circular lidded trinket box and a bird figurine. The lidded box is composed of blue Jasperware, attributed to Wedgwood, featuring a matte blue stoneware ground with applied white bas-relief neoclassical figures on the lid and a frieze of putti around the body. The lid is further decorated with a dark blue foliate border. The second item is a porcelain figurine depicting a hummingbird with spread wings positioned over a flower, finished in a semi-matte glaze with a palette of muted grey and cream tones. No maker’s marks are visible on the exterior surfaces of either piece. Both items bear orange adhesive auction labels numbered 408.
Condition report:
Both items display surface dust and minor wear consistent with age. The Jasperware box shows light surface marking to the matte ground. The bird figurine appears to be in good structural condition with no visible chips or cracks to the delicate wings or floral elements. Adhesive labels are present on both pieces.
