A Collection of Greek Handmade Cobalt Blue and 24K Gold Glazed Ceramics
A collection of Greek handmade ceramic tableware finished in a deep cobalt blue and black glaze with 24K gold gilt embellishments. The group comprises a large ovoid vase decorated with polychrome floral and avian motifs, a lidded jar with a spherical finial, a small bulbous decanter, and a miniature vase. Also included is a partial coffee service featuring multiple cups, including handleless examples, and a stack of saucers, each adorned with transfer-printed classical Greek mythological figures and traditional Greek key borders. Many pieces retain orange auction lot labels marked 56.
The items are in good overall condition. There is minor surface wear and light rubbing to the gilt decoration consistent with age and use. No significant chips or cracks are visible upon inspection.
