Lot 87: A Pair of Art Deco Bakelite Tea Caddies
A pair of Art Deco containers, identified by market consensus as tea caddies, manufactured from dark brown Bakelite. The cylindrical bodies are moulded with the Kodak brand name within a rectangular frame. Each vessel is topped with a matching lid featuring a star-shaped notched handle and a fluted rim. These containers were originally produced as film processing tanks during the mid-20th century.
Condition report:
Both items show signs of age and industrial use, including accumulated surface dust, minor white speckling, and general surface wear. Adhesive paper labels and orange price stickers are adhered to the lids.
