Lot 70: A Collection of Sheffield Stainless Steel Cutlery Sets by Thomas Ward and Viner's
A collection of mid-20th-century cutlery sets featuring cream-coloured synthetic handles and stainless steel blades. One set comprises knives with tapered handles, the blades etched with STAINLESS Thomas Ward Sheffield. A second set features knives with cylindrical handles and blades marked with a royal warrant crest, inscribed CUTLERS TO H.M. THE KING and VI-LIKE, a mark associated with Viner’s of Sheffield. Both sets are presented in their original card presentation boxes. The construction utilizes stainless steel for the blades and synthetic material for the hafts.
Condition report:
The items show signs of age-related wear and regular use. The presentation boxes exhibit scuffing, fading, and structural wear. Small adhesive lot or price stickers are present on several knife blades and the exterior of the boxes. Surface scratches and minor tarnish are visible on the stainless steel components.
