A novelty cigarette lighter fashioned from a .50 calibre BMG (Browning Machine Gun) rifle cartridge casing. The brass-toned metallic body features a bottleneck design and a removable red-painted bullet-form cap. This cap conceals an internal lighter mechanism comprising a striker wheel and flint assembly. The base of the casing is smooth with no visible headstamps or manufacturer markings. This item is designed as a piece of militaria-themed tobacciana.
Condition report:
The brass casing displays significant surface oxidation, pitting, and discolouration consistent with age. There is visible wear to the red pigment on the removable cap. The internal lighter mechanism shows heavy corrosion and rust to the striker wheel and upper housing. The functionality of the lighter is untested.
