A vintage wrought iron coal miner’s clothes basket display stand. The structure comprises a tubular metal frame with scrolled top supports and a decorative turned finial. The unit is fitted with an assortment of rectangular wire baskets of varying sizes, of the type historically used in pit head baths for the storage of miners’ clothing. The entire piece is finished in a distressed grey coating. Small orange inventory tags are present on various parts of the wirework.
Condition report:
The item exhibits visible weathering, surface rust, and significant paint loss consistent with age and storage. The grey finish is heavily distressed.
