Lot 405: A Mottahedeh Porcelain Owl Figurine
A Mottahedeh porcelain figurine of an owl, identified as design number S 8403. The bird is depicted in a naturalistic pose perched upon a textured log base adorned with green ivy leaves. The owl is rendered with cream and tan plumage, fine brown speckling, and large, hand-painted dark eyes. The piece is finished with a matte glaze and features hand-painted decorative elements. This moulded figurine is characterised by the style of Mottahedeh decorative ceramic production from the mid-to-late 20th century.
