Lot 399: Two Murano Art Glass Items including a Sommerso Centerpiece Bowl and a Starfish Sculpture
Two pieces of art glass comprising a Murano glass sommerso centerpiece bowl and a figural starfish sculpture. The bowl is executed in the sommerso style with a deep amethyst core encased in clear glass, featuring a stylised bird-like form. The starfish is fashioned from clear glass with a cobalt blue and white speckled millefiori centre. Both items are hand-blown and feature a polished, glossy finish. Adhesive labels numbered 13 and 399 are attached to the exterior of both pieces.
