A large German porcelain figural group by Aelteste Volkstedter, depicting a Rococo-style musical scene. The composition features a seated female figure in a yellow and floral gown with applied porcelain lace trim, positioned at a decorated grand piano. A male figure in a blue coat and black breeches stands in attendance. The group is crafted from glazed porcelain with hand-painted details, gilded scrollwork, and applied floral encrustations. The scene is set upon an oval, scroll-moulded base with a lattice-patterned floor and gilded accents. A blue underglaze mark is partially visible on the underside, currently obscured by a paper auction label numbered 344.
Condition report:
The piece shows damage with a detached porcelain limb resting on the base. There are visible losses to the delicate porcelain lace trim. Minor losses to the applied floral encrustations and wear to the gilded highlights are present.
