Lot 307: A Collection of Odhams Press Charles Dickens Works
A collection of hardcover books primarily comprising the works of Charles Dickens published by Odhams Press. The volumes are presented in uniform brown textured faux-leather bindings featuring gilt-stamped titles and decorative banding to the spines. The collection includes titles such as David Copperfield, Nicholas Nickleby, Oliver Twist, Great Expectations, A Christmas Carol, The Pickwick Papers, Little Dorrit, Our Mutual Friend, Dombey and Son, The Old Curiosity Shop, Martin Chuzzlewit, Bleak House, Barnaby Rudge, Sketches by Boz, and A Child’s History of England. One volume in a matching binding contains Count Robert of Paris by Sir Walter Scott and American Notes by Charles Dickens, bearing the J.M. Dent publisher’s mark at the base of the spine.
Condition report:
The collection is in generally good condition. There is minor surface wear, light scuffing, and shelf rubbing to the covers and spines consistent with age and use. The gilt lettering remains largely legible and bright.
