Lot 288: A James Ryals and Co. Ltd. Sheffield Cased Canteen of Cutlery
A James Ryals and Co. Ltd. canteen of cutlery, manufactured in Sheffield, England. The set is presented in a two-tier wooden canteen with a red velvet-lined interior. The flatware comprises polished metal blades, bowls, and tines, each fitted with cream-coloured synthetic handles. The collection includes an assortment of knives, forks, spoons, and a sharpening steel. Several pieces remain in their original protective paper wrappers. The interior of the lid features two manufacturer labels for James Ryals and Co. Ltd. and a central brass presentation plaque dedicated to Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Lawson for 22 years of service.
Condition report:
The set is in good vintage condition. Surface tarnish is present on the metal components. The exterior of the wooden case shows minor wear consistent with age and use.
