Lot 267: Three Japanese Imari Porcelain Tableware Items
A trio of Japanese Imari porcelain tableware items including a lidded teapot, a circular plate, and a large bowl with a scalloped rim, dating from the Meiji period and 20th century. The pieces are decorated in a traditional palette of underglaze cobalt blue with overglaze iron red, green, and yellow enamels on a white ground. The hand-painted designs consist of dense floral, foliate, and scroll motifs. The teapot features a spout and handle decorated with red diaper patterns and a lid topped with a blue finial. The large bowl has a deep well and a decorative scalloped edge. Several adhesive inventory and lot labels are attached to the glazed surfaces.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of age and previous use. There are visible chips to the scalloped rim of the large bowl. General surface wear and adhesive residue from labels are present.
