Lot 217: An Assortment of Cast Metal knocker and Wooden Display Stands
This collection comprises a variety of items including a cast metal figural element, and several wooden display stands. The cast metal piece is a heavy figural element, possibly a door knocker or handle, featuring a scrolled frame and a stylized face with a dark, aged patina; this item is consistent with French bronze sculptures after the antique, such as those titled Find in Pompeii. Also included are several circular wooden display stands with a reddish-brown finish and central apertures, identified as Chinese vase bases.
Condition report:
The items exhibit a dark, aged appearance with surface wear, scuffs, and abrasions consistent with period furniture and metalwork. The metal element shows a heavy patina and oxidation. The wooden stands show minor surface scratches and wear to the finish.
