Lot 142: A Pair of Vintage Chinese Baoding Iron Balls
A pair of Chinese meditation balls, identified by the manufacturer as Baoding Iron Balls. The spheres are constructed from metal with a highly reflective chrome finish. They are presented in a rectangular, hinged box covered in a red and black brocade textile with a red fabric-lined interior. The box is secured by a brass-toned metal clasp. A printed label on the exterior of the box identifies the contents as Baoding Iron Balls (保定铁球) manufactured by the Baoding Iron Ball Factory in China. A small paper tag is attached to one of the spheres.
Condition report:
The metal balls appear in good condition with a bright, reflective finish. The presentation box shows minor fraying to the textile edges and corners. A small orange inventory sticker is affixed to the lower right corner of the box exterior.
