Lot 122: An Antique Peugeot Freres Cast Iron Flywheel Mill
An antique cast iron mill manufactured by Peugeot Freres in Valentigney, France. The apparatus features a large three-spoke flywheel with an integrated handle, which operates a visible geared drive system. The design incorporates an open conical hopper situated above the grinding mechanism, all supported by a heavy cast iron base. The base is embossed with the manufacturer’s mark PEUGEOT FRERES and VALENTIGNEY. The entire unit is finished in a textured black paint.
Condition report:
The mill is in fair condition, showing signs of age and use. There is visible surface wear and oxidation present, particularly within the interior of the hopper. The black finish shows some texture and minor abrasions. A small numerical auction label is attached to the hopper.
