Lot 635: A Pair of Burma Athletic Association Silver Medals by P. Orr & Sons Ltd
A pair of shield-shaped athletic medals for the Burma Athletic Association, Rangoon, produced by the silversmiths P. Orr & Sons Ltd. Each medal is struck in silver metal and features a central relief depicting a prominent domed building set against a textured ground. The central image is framed by red enamel banners bearing the inscriptions BURMA ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION and RANGOON, further embellished with laurel leaf sprays and a circular suspension loop to the top. The medals are housed in their original fitted presentation cases with blue velvet interiors and white silk lid linings. The interior silk is gold-stamped with the maker mark BY APPOINTMENT P. ORR & SONS LTD MADRAS & RANGOON accompanied by a royal crest.
