A Victorian walnut octagonal sewing table. The piece is constructed with an octagonal top featuring crossbanded inlay, which opens on a hinge to reveal a multi-compartment fitted interior. The interior is lined with a combination of patterned floral fabric and plush red velvet, including a central octagonal panel with a small metal pull. The box is supported by a tapering octagonal pedestal column, often referred to as a trumpet work table, resting on a carved tripod base with cabriole-style legs. A keyhole is present to the front of the octagonal box.
