Lot 550: A Chinese Ming Dynasty Style Huanghuali Wood Butterfly Wall Cabinet and Shelf Unit
A Chinese Ming Dynasty style wall-mounted butterfly cupboard and shelf unit, constructed from huanghuali wood. The asymmetrical design comprises two open shelves positioned to the left of a two-door cupboard. The cupboard doors feature recessed panels and fluted vertical stiles, fitted with brass-toned hinges and a central keyhole. The side supports are embellished with decorative pierced scrollwork. The unit is finished in a dark stain that highlights the natural wood grain. A small yellow inventory sticker is affixed to the left shelf support.
