Lot 386: An early 20th-century The Grafton floor-standing oak gramophone
An early 20th-century floor-standing gramophone by The Grafton. The instrument is housed within a dark-stained oak cabinet featuring a hinged lid. The interior contains a blue felt-covered turntable platter, a metal tone arm, and a speed control dial, with a manufacturer’s decal for The Grafton positioned on the underside of the lid. Adjacent to the turntable is a storage compartment containing an assortment of mechanical parts and accessories. The cabinet exterior is detailed with a carved geometric fretwork panel and two front doors featuring decorative brass hinges and a central latch.
