A late 19th-century Victorian mahogany lap desk featuring a hinged lid that opens to reveal a two-part fold-out writing surface lined with green baize. The interior is fitted with three upper compartments, including a central long well and two smaller side wells. The desk contains an assortment of writing utensils, including pens, pencils, and drafting tools. The exterior is constructed from mahogany with a brass lock plate and internal brass hinges. A small paper label is adhered to the upper surface of the lid.
