Lot 179: A Collection of Chinese Blue and White Porcelain Koi Fish Dishes
A collection of Chinese blue and white porcelain dishes of graduated sizes. Each piece is constructed from white porcelain featuring hand-painted underglaze cobalt blue decoration. The primary motif consists of a stylized koi fish or carp centered within a scalloped or cloud-form border. The larger nested dishes exhibit similar blue decorative elements along the rims. The surfaces are finished with a clear, glossy glaze. Adhesive lot tags numbered 20 and 179 are present on the upper surface of the topmost dish.
