Lot 177: An Ornate Gilt Composition Beveled Wall Mirror in the Rococo Revival Style
A large rectangular wall mirror featuring a heavily molded gilt-composition frame in the Rococo Revival style. The frame is decorated with a continuous pattern of high-relief scrolling acanthus leaves and foliate motifs. The central mirror plate is finished with a deep beveled edge. The construction consists of a composition material applied over a secondary frame and finished with a gold-toned gilt.
