A pair of cast iron boot jacks modeled in the form of stag beetles. Each piece features prominent, curved mandibles designed for the removal of footwear. The heavy cast construction is characteristic of utilitarian household objects from the late 19th or early 20th century. One example retains a dark patinated finish with areas of green oxidation, while the second example is in a heavily rusted and weathered state. Both pieces show signs of use, including surface pitting and wear. Contemporary auction lot stickers numbered 148 and L are affixed to the items.
