Lot 147: A Framed Thai or Burmese Style Metallic Thread Peacock Embroidery
This framed piece of metallic thread embroidery, consistent with Zardozi techniques, features a central peacock perched on a branch. The composition includes stylized floral and foliate motifs. The work is executed using gold-tone bullion wire and blue metallic threads on a black fabric ground. The embroidery is accented with small green and amber-colored beads or stones. The artwork is housed in a rectangular gold-finished wooden frame with decorative green distressing and protective glass. An orange L41 sticker and a white 66 tag are present on the upper portion of the frame.
