Vintage 'CORNOLA HABANA' Wooden Cigar Box with a Collection of Coins and a Revenue Postage Stamp
A vintage rectangular wooden cigar box, constructed from a light to medium brown wood. The hinged lid is decoratively stenciled or branded with the name “CORNOLA” in an ornate banner, flanked by scrollwork and a central emblem, below which the word “HABANA” is faintly visible. Inside, the box contains a mixed assortment of numerous coins from various countries and periods, including several older British or Commonwealth issues, alongside a fragment of paper featuring a reddish-orange postage stamp marked “REVENUE POSTAGE 2d.” Small white adhesive labels on the exterior bear the marks “JLS” and “16.”
